Viking Range Wok Burner Repair
We recently serviced a Viking range with a wok burner that would not ignite. The customer from Morgan Hill reported that the burner stopped lighting, making it impossible to use the wok cooking feature.
During the diagnostic inspection, we checked the ignition system and found that the problem was caused by a failed spark module. The spark module is responsible for sending electrical pulses to the igniter so the burner can produce a spark and ignite the gas. When this component fails, the burner will not ignite even though gas is present.
To resolve the issue, we replaced the OEM spark module with a new original part and tested the ignition system. After the replacement, the wok burner began sparking and igniting normally again, and the unit was fully operational.
Ignition problems like this can occur in Viking ranges and rangetops, especially in high-BTU burners such as wok burners that are used frequently. Over time, electrical components like spark modules can wear out due to heat and regular use.
If your Viking range burner clicks but does not ignite, or stops sparking completely, a professional diagnosis can help identify whether the issue is related to the spark module, igniter, wiring, or gas supply. Proper repair ensures the appliance operates safely and reliably.
