Sub-Zero Ice Dispenser Repair – Ice Would Not Dispense

We recently repaired a Sub-Zero refrigerator with an ice dispenser that stopped dispensing ice. Although the ice maker was producing ice normally, the ice would not pass through the dispenser.

After a complete diagnosis, we found that the problem was caused by a burned-out mullion heater assembly. This heating element prevents frost and ice buildup around the dispenser area. When it fails, ice can accumulate and block the dispenser chute, preventing ice from being dispensed.

To restore proper operation, we replaced the OEM Sub-Zero Mullion Heater Assembly (Part #7041932). After installation and testing, the dispenser operated normally again, allowing ice to flow freely.

A failed mullion heater is a common issue that can lead to frost buildup, dispenser problems, and reduced convenience. If your Sub-Zero refrigerator is making ice but not dispensing it, the issue may be related to the mullion heater, dispenser components, or ice chute. Professional diagnosis and OEM replacement parts ensure reliable, long-lasting performance.
